Finally someone who gets the fact that for Apple doesn’t have to abandon all of the app icon recognition that users have developed over the years of using iOS devices just to adopt “flat design” principles.
iOS Security Is Too Strong For Police
According to TechCrunch:
Seized iPhones with a passcode lock are apparently secure enough to frustrate a lot of police agencies in the U.S., resulting in a wait list that Apple has put in place to help it deal with unlock requests from the authorities. The waiting list was long enough that it resulted in a 7-week delay for a recent request by the ATF last summer, according to the CNET report.
I’d say iOS is pretty secure, wouldn’t you?
T-Mobile Reports First Positive Quarterly Results Since 2009, Sells 500,000 iPhones In First Month
So lets me get this straight.
- T-Mobile sells 500,000 iPhone5’s (an 8-month device) in the first month of being able to sell iPhones.
- Side note: iPhones went on sale April 12th and the Report was release May 8th. So the numbers aren’t even a true full month. T-mobile also sells the iPhone 4 and 4S, but those aren’t included in the 500,000 number.
- The Quarter that T-Mobile starts selling the iPhone is the positive quarterly result.
Clearly Apple is doomed. Consumers don’t want their iPhones anymore. Carriers don’t want the iPhone anymore.

A well written piece that talks through technical analysis of stocks and why the massive sell off as of AAPL recently isn’t that crazy. In fact, the recent sell off seems to have been overdue.
Apple stock has had its ups and downs. And with Apple’s stock coming down recently, the web hasn’t let up.
Windows Phone chief trash-talks Apple
I think the editorial commentary is a bit over the top and vulgar, but there is a great comment by Herding_Sheep that I felt needed to be called out.
People don’t seem to think rationally anymore. Look what happened now when Microsoft changed just ONE element on the traditional tried-and-true desktop and got rid of the start menu. It confused the hell out of the average users who just want to USE their computers the way they’ve always worked.
It wouldn’t be any different for Apple. When you have something that 400+ million customers currently use and are happy with, any little change is going to risk an uproar. Maybe they could change the visual aesthetic, but to change how the OS operates just for the sake of “new” would be downright silly, and thats not how a wise designer thinks about products. Dieter Rams would probably roll his eyes at the idea of changing something for changesake.
