Microsoft to Acquire Yammer
Microsoft is going to buy Yammer (a closed enterprise twitter-like product) and make it part of the Microsoft Office group.
I can’t wait for MS to announce that the “Free Account” will soon be receiving in stream “conversation ads” a la Skype.
Tumblr as a Platform
Initially when I saw this brandsite built on the Tumblr platform my first thought was “Tumblr has graduated past ‘blog only’ status”. Then I started to really think about Tumblr as a platform and it really is quite genius.
This must be a joke. A new social network that is dubbing itself “The alternative to Facebook” has a “Facebook Page” and has implemented the Facebook “Like” button once a user reserves a username.
Google +1
What it is.
+1 is a way for Google to incorporate “social” into their search engine. Google’s +1 product is their version of a Facebook “like” button. When you enable the +1 product for your google account you will start seeing the +1 buttons appear in line with your search results like the screen captures below.
