Pedal to the Metal
Ars Technica asks the question, “Third-gen iPad owners: does the fourth-gen iPad irk you?”
I was waiting for fallout over this rapid updating of the 9.7” iPad in just 6 months time. For Apple users they were supposed to have the “latest greatest bestest thing” for another 6 months.
It could be worse. They could have an Android device and have an outdated tablet that is non-upgradeable in 1 months time.
Another One Bites the Dust
Another non-ecosystem tablet is put out of its misery of poor sales.
Amazon and Apple are going to the be the winners of this market until Google and Windows are able to replicate the dedicated content ecosystem.
The iPad is Dominating
iPads dominate among tablets in driving digital traffic. In August 2011, iPads delivered 97.2 percent of all tablet traffic in the U.S. iPads have also begun to account for a higher share of Internet traffic than iPhones (46.8 percent vs. 42.6 percent of all iOS device traffic).
With iPad owning the tablet market, I think Windows 8 devices will be a year too late to make a dent.
